baj Cricket Betting — T20 to Test, the best markets across all formats
Bet on BPL, IPL and international cricket at baj. From match winner to live in-play — new opportunities on every ball. This page explains how to read odds, how each market works, and how to enjoy betting responsibly.
Three cricket formats and the major tournaments
Cricket is played in three main formats — T20, ODI and Test. Each format has its own pace, strategy and betting markets.
T20 is the fastest format — just 20 overs per side, so the match can shift quickly. BPL and IPL are played in this format and both attract strong interest among fans in Bangladesh. The T20 World Cup is also played in this format, and Bangladesh Tigers' performances generate a lot of attention.
ODI, or one-day cricket, gives each side 50 overs. Strategy shifts in the middle and late stages of an innings, so odds tend to move more during live betting.
Test cricket lasts up to five days. A draw is a possible result, so match winner markets have three options. In Test matches, pitch conditions and weather have a bigger influence on the betting picture.
Football and other sports are also available at baj. Compared to cricket, football markets and conditions are different — in football a goal either happens or does not within 90 minutes, whereas in cricket there are far more events per match: wickets, runs, maidens on every ball. That variety is what makes cricket especially relevant for live betting.
6 popular markets in cricket and how they work
Understanding how each market works is the first step in responsible betting. Here are six markets explained in plain terms.
Match Winner
Just one question — which team will win the match? In T20 and ODI there are two outcomes (Team A win or Team B win); in Test there are three (Team A win, Team B win or draw). Example: Team A at odds 1.80, Team B at 2.00 — a ৳500 bet on Team B returns ৳1,000 if Team B wins.
Toss Winner
A bet on who wins the coin toss at the start of the match. The result is known before the match is played. This is an independent market — it has no direct connection to the match result.
Top Batsman
Which batsman from a given team will score the most runs in a specific innings. You can bet on the top batsman of each side separately. This market is about individual performance rather than team win or loss.
Total Runs Over / Under
A bet on whether total runs at the end of a specific over or innings will be more (over) or less (under) than a set number. Example: over/under 65 runs in the first 10 overs — pick whichever you think is more likely.
Multi Bet (multiple selections)
Combining multiple matches or markets into a single bet creates a multi bet. If three selections have odds of 1.70, 1.80 and 1.90 respectively, the combined odds are 5.81 — a ৳100 bet returns ৳581; however, if any one selection loses, the entire bet is lost.
Wicket-Based Markets
When the next wicket will fall, at what score it will fall, or which bowler will take it — these markets are available in-play. Because the situation changes with every ball, these markets move quickly.
Decimal, Fractional and American Odds explained together
baj may display odds in three formats — decimal, fractional and American. All three express the same probability, just written differently.
Example 1 — Team A to win: Bet ৳200. Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. If Team A wins, total return is ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 stake); if they lose, ৳200 is lost.
Example 2 — Favourite Team B to win: Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American -200 (the minus sign shows how much you need to bet to win ৳100). A ৳200 bet returns ৳300 (৳100 profit).
Decimal odds are the simplest — multiply your stake by the odds to get the total return. In fractional odds, the numerator is profit and the denominator is stake. In American odds, a plus sign shows profit on a ৳100 bet; a minus sign shows how much you must stake to win ৳100.

| Format | Team A (৳200) | Team B (৳200) |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | 1.50 |
| Fractional | 2/1 | 1/2 |
| American | +200 | -200 |
| Return if win | ৳600 | ৳300 |
| Loss if lose | ৳200 | ৳200 |
Team A and Team B are numerical examples only — not real odds or statistics.
Odds shift when a wicket falls — how in-play betting works
In-play betting means you can place bets after the match has started. Every wicket, every six, or every maiden over changes the odds instantly.
Quick wickets in the powerplay can push up the batting team's odds. If the run rate stays steady in the middle overs, odds tend to stay close. In the final overs, a single wicket can change everything.
Decisions in live betting need to be made quickly — so planning ahead and keeping to your own limits is important. Betting is for entertainment, not as a source of income.
Five tips for staying level-headed in cricket betting
Set a budget
Decide in advance how much you will spend on each match or each week. Do not go beyond that limit. Betting is a form of entertainment, not a way to empty your pocket.
Understand the odds before you bet
Check the odds table above to be sure — decimal 1.50 means half your stake as profit, not the full amount. In a multi bet, check each selection individually.
Avoid rushing in live betting
Odds move fast in in-play betting. Make decisions calmly rather than placing large bets on impulse. Increasing your stake after a wicket in the heat of the moment is a common cause of losses.
Get to know one market well
Start by focusing on simple markets like match winner or over/under. More bets does not mean more wins — that thinking is not correct. Focusing on fewer markets keeps the picture clearer.
Stop after a loss
The urge to place more bets to recover a loss is dangerous. Take a break when you are down. You will find advice on setting your own limits on baj's responsible gaming page.
